AI setup and accounts
Prepare the AI you want to use and check the current account.
Set up each AI program and sign in separately
orke is a workspace for using AI. ChatGPT runs Codex CLI, and Claude runs Claude Code. Even if you use an AI on its website, you may need to install its CLI and sign in on your PC. A regular terminal does not require an AI account.
| AI | What you need |
|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Codex CLI installed and an account signed in |
| Claude | Claude Code installed and an account signed in |
| NVIDIA | An NVIDIA API key and model selection in Settings. The bundled agent is for the My PC environment on Windows. |
| OpenCode · Hermes · Antigravity | The corresponding CLI installed and signed in. Each CLI manages its own authentication. |
Installing for the first time
- If you already have an account, start with that AI.
- Follow the instructions for your OS in OpenAI’s Codex CLI installation guide or the Claude Code quickstart.
- Open a new terminal, check that the installed command runs, and complete the provider’s sign-in process.
- In orke’s Settings › AI accounts, check the current account. If needed, follow the add-account and sign-in instructions in account management.
- Select that AI in a new session and send a small question.
If installation changed PATH, terminals and apps that were already open may not see the change yet. Open a new terminal and, if necessary, save your work and restart orke.
Which tasks use the current account?
In account management, you register accounts and select the one to use now. New AI tasks and orke support run with the current account. If work is in progress, check the account-switching notice to see which tasks are affected. Switching accounts does not automatically turn existing conversations into conversations belonging to the new account.
ChatGPT in the app is codex in the package CLI. This differs from chatgpt, the agent ID used to create a regular session.
Using NVIDIA
Save your key in the NVIDIA API key field in Settings › AI accounts and check its status. Choose NVIDIA and a model in a new session. Requests go to the NVIDIA API, and that service’s model access requirements and limits apply.
Isolated environments have separate accounts
Installing and signing in on My PC does not set up the container. Install the CLIs you need and sign in directly in an isolated terminal. See Isolated environments for details.
When installation or sign-in gets stuck
The command cannot be found.
Open a new terminal as the same OS user and check whether the CLI runs and its install location is on PATH. Read the installation or path error shown in the app.
The task does not start after browser sign-in.
Check that CLI sign-in is complete and the right account is selected as current. After the sign-in window reports completion, check the status in orke again.
I have reached a usage limit.
Check the account’s usage and when it will be available again. Sign-in issues and usage limits are different problems. Read the limit notice together with the task status.
